Jazz Williams is a queer non-binary editor from the Southside of Chicago. As a kid, they always had a love for creative arts. They began with writing short stories and when they got their first camera around age 10, then shot and edited their first pieces on Windows Movie Maker. Their love for editing and media production grew when they attended Valparaiso University in 2008 and had the opportunity to start the school tv station. Through that experience they gravitated towards broadcast engineering, sports broadcasting, and theatre production. After they graduated in 2012, they worked at Freespirit Media as the HoopsHIGH Production Coordinator, teaching sports broadcasting, media literacy, and short documentary production. They also worked as an adjunct at Valparaiso University teaching media production. In 2016, they relocated to Madison, WI where they worked as broadcast engineer at PBS. Currently they are a freelance editor based in Chicago and have had the opportunity to work with various clients such as the NFLPA, Northwestern University, and local commercial post-houses.
